Feed A Mosquito Legendary Tier: Is It Real, and How Do You Get One?
Legendary is a real rarity tier in Feed A Mosquito, verified in gameplay on eggs and a feedable mosquito. What the footage confirms, the route players have seen, and what remains unproven.
Yes — legendary is a real rarity tier in Feed A Mosquito, not just a word from a video title. A narrated gameplay session shows the label on three separate things: a results list that reads "Epic egg, mythical, legendary," collectible legendary eggs picked up off the ground, and a placeable, feedable legendary mosquito that displays 3,000 coins per second before feeding. What the same session never shows is where legendary eggs come from — every one was already lying in the world when found, and one batch was another player's leftovers. So the tier is confirmed, the route from egg to income-earner is mostly mapped, but the step that creates a legendary egg remains undocumented. Here is exactly where that line sits.
Is the legendary tier real?
The claim traces to a single narrated playthrough, which sets the limit on everything below: it's enough to prove the label exists and how it behaves, but one session is not a rulebook, and no official rarity table is involved. Within that run, "legendary" appears on independent objects, not just the thumbnail:
- The results list. Reviewing an egg haul, the player reads off his results: "Epic egg, mythical, legendary." Legendary is listed as its own tier next to epic and mythical — the high-rarity band of the egg system.
- Legendary eggs. Eggs labeled legendary are physical pickups. The player collects them more than once ("I need more legendary eggs. This is so easy... I didn't even need to do anything.") and contests one with another player mid-fight ("Don't you dare take that legendary. This was my fight.") — evidence it's a rarity players fight over.
- A legendary mosquito. Later the player presents a placed legendary mosquito in his base ("Behold the legendary mosquito") and checks its rate: "Oo, 3,000. Wait, only three grand. It's not that much."
That closes the verification loop: the tier applies to the eggs and to the mosquitoes that hatch from them. What it does not establish is rank — legendary and mythical share a results list and are never compared, so don't read "legendary" as "the best." That question needs a controlled comparison, which is the job of the best mosquito guide.
The route players have actually seen
The video never shows a legendary egg being created, but everything after pickup is grounded. In order:
- Find a legendary egg lying in the world and pick it up. Both legendary-egg moments in the session are plain pickups. After one fight the player chooses from eggs on the ground ("Is there something we could take here? I guess we could go for the legendary one") and then takes the rest "like a loot goblin"; another batch belongs to a player who simply left it behind ("Dude, this guy just leaves it here"). No prerequisite action was shown — the pickup is free the moment an egg exists.
- Wait out the hatch timer. Eggs don't open on pickup. The timers visible in the session belong to other items — a mythical egg at "Mythical 7 minutes," one collected egg at "4 hours to open up," a larva at "40 minutes of cooking time" — so expect a wait, and expect it to be long. The legendary egg's own timer was never stated, and the video cuts from the timed eggs to the finished mosquito without showing the hatch. The egg stages themselves are covered in the mosquito eggs reference.
- Place the mosquito in your base. The placed legendary is shown directly, and it starts at 3,000 coins per second unfed. For scale in the same session: an epic read 4 grand per second, and the whole base later totaled about 300 grand per second, with the demon mosquito earning most of it. So 3,000 is a starting point, not the payoff.
- Feed it to raise its income — once your health can survive it. A feeding attempt right after placing it drained the player's entire blood pool ("It literally instantly takes all my blood. I can't even feed this."), and the same wall shows up on other big mosquitoes ("It takes me apart... I need to get more health before I can do this"). His fix was leveling health-regenerating furniture — a couch, then a bed — before trying again; those upgrades are part of the base upgrades track. Feeding is the income step: he keeps the legendary because "once we feed him up fully, he's going to make a lot more money." Other mosquitoes in the session reach a visible "Fully fed up" state; the legendary's own completed feed never appears, so its final income is unknown. General feeding mechanics are in the feeding guide.
What's not documented: the step that creates a legendary egg
This gap is why no "guaranteed legendary" recipe exists yet:
- No spawn source or location. Eggs were simply present. Any claim like "legendary eggs spawn at X" goes beyond the footage.
- No confirmed drop event. The one hint: a legendary egg was contested during the Fman fight ("Don't you dare take that legendary. This was my fight."), which is consistent with big fights surfacing high-rarity eggs — but the video never shows the fight producing it, so "defeat the Fman" cannot be treated as the method.
- No odds, no ladder. No drop chance, probability, or complete rarity ranking appears anywhere in the session.
Because observed availability depended on unexplained spawns and another player's leftovers, there's also no demonstrated repeatable loop for farming legendary eggs specifically. General egg routes are covered in the egg farming guide; treat legendary as a find, not a farmed drop, until a producing step is shown.
Unknowns and easy mix-ups
- Legendary vs. mythical. Never compared — not in tier order, not in payout.
- Timers. "7 minutes" and "4 hours" belong to a mythical egg and another collected egg, not to legendary eggs; the larva's "40 minutes of cooking time" is its own stage.
- 3,000 per second. That's the legendary's unfed baseline; the fully fed figure never appears.
- A stray "5 minute cool down." Mentioned once during a pickup without a clearly identified source — don't treat it as a confirmed legendary-egg rule.
- Scope of the label. Legendary is only verified on mosquitoes and their eggs; nothing in the session puts it on weapons or other rewards.
If you're checking what else is actually confirmed in the game, the mosquitoes list is the reference for other verified entities.
